Brian Barnes 1988 Ford Mustang GT

Brian Barns 2

Brian came to Precision, not only because he heard it was the best ;)   , but because he has been friends with owner Jeff for years.  Brian’s 88 GT is fited with a host of goodies.  Car has a 331, S-Trim, Twisted Wedge heads , Intake and Cam.  Also has a hybrid Aeromotive fuel setup.  Brian encountered some issues on the dyno and we were not able to get any real solid numbers.  It did however deal out over 400 torque on less than 3 psi.  His car should do quite will when he gets it complete.  Stay tuned for dyno numbers!

UPDATE Brain came back to us late August with the last few changes needed to make some serious power. After just a few pulls on the Dyno Jeff was able to bring this car to its full potential with 562 RWHP and 527 Torque, needless to say Brian left with a big smile on his face. Like most of our customers that leave the shop after a fresh tune, Brian took the car to Kil Kare and was able to run 11.10 @ 123 mph with serious belt slip. Brian plans to run a cog setup to maximize power and get rid of the belt slip. Lets see that 10 second pass Brian!

UPDATE:November 2006
Brian made just a few more changes late in the season, and with a little bit of luck had some great weather and made it back to the track for his season ending passes. Brian did not dip into the 10 second range he jumped in with both feet first. Brian ran a 10.55 at 124 mph, his best pass in the car ever. Brian has built one heck of a race car and trusts no one but Jeff to tune the car, with Brian in the cockpit of this powerful pony there is no question this car is a force to be reckoned with. Brian has some winter plans for this beast that will hopefully allow him to maybe just dip into the 9s. With the plans Brian laid out for 2006 to allow him to make his first 10 second pass ever, we are certain his plans for 2007 will yield a 9 second pass.
