Cavin 2004 Ford SVT Cobra
This 2004 SVT Cobra came to Precision with a very long list of modifications, but the car just was not making the power it should have been making. Equipped with a Ford Racing Whipple Supercharger, SLP full exhaust, Ford GT fuel pumps, and 60 lb/hr fuel injectors, all the pieces to the puzzle were there but just did not feel right. We discovered the car was experiencing belt slip at high RPM ranges while making our first few pulls on the Dyno. We swapped the lower pulley setup with a Metco 4lb kit and went back to the Dyno. After a few deliveries from the parts store with multiple sizes of belts, we found the right one that offered no belt slip. Now that the belt slip issue was taken care of, we were on our way to making good power. After just a few short pulls we were able to make 600 RWHP and 560 TQ, compared to the baseline of 580 RWHP, belt slip can play a serious part in dropping horse power.
